Position Overview
The District of Fort St. James is seeking a Full-Time Seasonal Summer Recreation Leader. The Summer Recreation Leader is responsible for facilitating the summer recreation program day camp. The recreation leaders will work under the supervision of the team leader to organize and implement daily camp activities throughout the summer.  Summer camps will be based at the Fort St. James Community Centre and various outdoor locations for school-aged children (6-12) for the summer months of July and August. The Summer Recreation Leader will report to the Office Assistant/Events Coordinator and may receive direction from the Economic Development Officer.
Qualifications
Applicants must be aged 16-30 and have a valid SIN number. Applicants must have experience working in a recreational leadership role and experience working with children. The ideal candidate will have the ability to make quick decisions, be flexible and adaptable, have strong organizational and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will enjoy being creative and bring enthusiasm to the recreation program. The successful candidate will be required to undergo a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Screening.
Additional Information
This is a full-time seasonal union position offering 35 hours of work per week, the hourly rate is $26.09 with 4% in lieu of vacation. The Summer Recreation Leader will be based out of the Fort St. James Community Centre located at 190 Stuart Drive E. The Recreation Leader will work 8:30 – 4:30 Monday to Friday.
