Business Licences

The District of Fort St. James regulates business licences through the Business Licence Bylaw.

All businesses operating within District boundaries must purchase and maintain a municipal business licence.  Business licences  range from $50 – $400 per year, and seasonal licences can be purchased for 50% of the full year fee.

Examples of activities requiring licences include, but are not limited to:

  • Not-for-profit
  • Home-based
  • Based out of the District but conducting business within the District
  • Commercial or industrial in nature
  • Providing any professional, personal or other services for the purpose of gain or profit
  • Temporary

You can download a Business License application and send the completed form to the municipal office, or apply online through BizPal.
