About SHS
In 2013, the District of Fort St. James received a grant for medical transportation service to Vanderhoof, Prince George, Fraser Lake - and Seniors Helping Seniors started. The program is administered through the District Office, and volunteer-run by seniors, for seniors.
SHS is always looking for additional volunteers!

Our Services
Grocery Shopping and Errands
We are happy to help seniors who find it difficult to get out of the house on their own. Just give us your shopping list and we'll do the rest! Groceries are delivered on Fridays.
Free Transportation to Medical Appointments Seniors 65+
This service is available to those seniors, 65 years and older, who find themselves struggling to get to medical appointments on their own. To take advantage of this service, call the District office at (250) 996-8233 to organize your ride. We travel between Fort St. James, Vanderhoof, and Prince George. Please try to book at least 48 hours before your appointment.
