Mayor, Council and Staff are excited to announce the new District website, fortstjames.ca, has won a Gold award in the Government category at the Hermes Awards. 
The Hermes Awards is an international competition that recognizes creative professionals. The awards have been running for 16 years and aim to honour the messengers and creators of the information revolution. Hermes winners bring their ideas to life through traditional and digital platforms.
The District of Fort St. James worked closely with Upanup to design the new website which launched in March 2022. This website redesign project involved public engagement to ensure feedback from the community was incorporated into the final custom design.

The new District website features user groups (resident, business, and visitor) on the homepage to provide a custom experience by displaying content most relevant to that user. Additionally, you will find a new events calendar, updated and simplified navigation, and a unique design that was carefully built to reflect the District. The new website also conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 AA standards.
