The District of Fort St James is proud to announce it has received a grant for $25,000 for District building accessibility upgrades. The Open Doors project, funded by SPARC BC, allows the District to increase accessibility for two of its buildings - the Fort St James Curling Club and the Fort St James Visitor Information Centre

SPARC BC's Local Community Accessibility Grant Program has supported the District to install wider, accessible doors, even surfaces at entryways, install electric door buttons on both sides of entrances, and to provide exit doors and ramps for the Curling Club and Visitor Info Centre. 

Work will be commencing this summer, with expected completion by spring of 2025. 

The District of Fort St James would like to thank the Bulkley-Nechako Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee for its advice and support in our grant application.
